Weekly Curriculum Updates, FSPA Districts, and More!
SO we’re back at it!
If you’re anything like me, it’s a mixture of excitement for a fresh new year, enthusiasm for what could lie ahead, with a healthy dose of dread and anxiety. I know the whole “there are two wolves inside of us ” parable is true, but doesn’t it feel even truer during during this back to school season?

Weekly Curriculum Update
We’re super excited to welcome Jim Streisel, MJE, to the JEA team as our curriculum specialist. He’ll be sending out weekly curriculum updates. For more info head here: https://curriculum.jea.org/wp/weekly-lessons/. I know I’m looking forward to what he shares each week. Many of us teach multiple preps/classes and JEA’s library of curriculum ranging from photojournalism, to broadcast, to design, to ice-breakers really help it feel less overwhelming. All are uploaded on the JEA Curriculum site. Make sure to check them out. If you have an idea to share with Jim or want to ask a specific question, fill out his Google Form here.

Florida Scholastic Press Association
FSPA is our state scholastic press association that is dedicated to helping student journalists and their advisers connect with others across the state and raise the standard of student journalism in Florida. Fall Contests go live on August 24th on the homepage. This is a great way to get feedback on early theme ideas. Make sure to follow FSPA on instagram and twitter for the most up to date info.
